These verses contain the framework for our initial discussions. We will use each part of them to discuss in greater detail what the Lord is saying to us in this hour. So let’s begin.

Satan will use DECEPTION and DISTRACTION ALL DAY LONG to turn our eyes away from what we should be focused upon. He feeds off of things within our hearts and minds, past failures and our sinful nature to cause us to stumble or at the very least, to cause us not to be as effective in the Kingdom of God that we can be.

HEBREWS 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…

Change your focus:

PHILIPPIANS 4:8 Finally my brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is a good report, if there is anything admirable let your mind so dwell on these things.

Mark 13:33-37 Jesus is telling the disciples about the signs of His coming. No man, no angel, not even Jesus knows…only the Father. So His admonition is to WATCH and PRAY.

1 Peter 5:6-8

Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that He might exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon him, for he cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.” 

How did Satan get into the Garden of God? What was he after?

Genesis 1-3

-God spoke the world into being. The WORD spoke the WORD! (John 1:1-3 Psalms 33:6,9 Hebrews 11:3)

-He made man in His image and blessed them to be fruitful, multiply and REPLENISH the earth, SUBDUE it and have DOMINION over everything that flys, creeps/walks, and swims…over EVERY LIVING THING THAT MOVES ON THE EARTH

-God formed the perfect ecosystem called Eden, put them in it to take care of it

–Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast…”

Where did he come from? How did he get here?

Ezekiel 28:12-19, Isaiah 14:12-16, Luke 10:17-18, Revelation 12:1-4, 9-10

The serpent brought ‘sin’ into the ecosystem of God. By deceiving BOTH Adam and Eve, satan dismantled the structure and caused the two blessed of God to sin against God and run and hide from Him because of their disobedience. Sin affected their FELLOWSHIP with God, but not their RELATIONSHIP. An innocent animal was slain, blood applied to their sin and a covering made by God for their nakedness. Gen 3:21

Bottom line: He was after the DOMINION/AUTHORITY over the earth that God had given them. He now had defeated God, stolen the earth-bound authority and rites of legal ownership. But was God really defeated? Or was the enemy really just set-up for a more protracted war-game that he’d never bargained.

Genesis 3:15

God’s plan was now set into motion. NOTHING catches our Father off guard. He never is surprised! “I will put enmity between your seed and the woman’s seed, IT shall bruise your head and you will bruise HIS heal.”

Men have seed/sperm…women have eggs/ovum. What was the seed? WHO was the seed/enmity that God prophesied about?

Luke 1:34-35 “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you, that the holy thing that will be born from you will be called the SON OF GOD.”

What’s all this ‘bruising’ going on that is spoken of in Genesis?

Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.”
